California’s top lawman, Rob Bonta, must have finally realized that fraud is a problem. Only a few months ago, he laughed off any concern about rampant fraud in our state, acting like it was just another “Republican talking point” cooked up by the Trump team. Well, someone must’ve handed him a reality check, because suddenly, he’s done a complete 180. Now, he’s talking a big game about rooting out fraud—like he had nothing to do with the mess in the first place.
Let’s not pretend this was some act of leadership. Bonta has been ignoring fraud for years, looking the other way while California’s criminals got rich off the chaos produced by left-wing policies. But now, all of a sudden, he’s boasting about charging twenty-one people. Is anyone supposed to be impressed? That’s like bailing out the Titanic with a plastic cup. There have been billions—yes, billions—lost to fraud, and only now does he act like he cares.
This is the same radical who, just last February, accused conservatives of “politicizing” fraud concerns. Now that the pressure is on and the headlines look bad, he’s changing his tune overnight. Funny how that works. When Democrats can’t deny the truth anymore, they pretend they’ve been on the right side all along. Meanwhile, everyday Californians have watched their tax dollars disappear, victims of mismanaged programs and soft-on-crime policies that make our state a haven for grifters.
Where was all this “passion” for justice when our unemployment system was fleeced by scammers, when cities became open playgrounds for organized theft, when crooked insiders and woke bureaucrats looked the other way? Maybe Bonta’s more worried about his political ambitions than the rule of law. He only starts talking tough when his own reputation is on the line. The hypocrisy is off the charts—and nobody’s fooled.
Californians deserve better than empty promises and delayed action. If Bonta was really serious about fraud, he would have started this clean-up years ago, not just when it became a PR disaster. How much more do we have to lose before Democrats admit their policies have failed? Is Rob Bonta finally coming for the fraudsters—or just scrambling to cover his own tracks?
