Los Angeles radicals plot LAPD power grab putting families at risk while criminals celebrate

Radicals in Los Angeles have never met a disaster they couldn’t make worse. The latest mess? Far-left city council members are trying to pull off a hostile takeover of the LAPD, stripping power from trained law enforcement professionals and handing it to themselves—career politicians and bean-counting bureaucrats. Instead of trusting officers who keep our neighborhoods safe, these activists want to micromanage cops right from their council chairs and backroom offices. You don’t need a crystal ball to know how that story ends: chaos in the streets, criminals on the loose, and hardworking families paying the price.

This is just the old Defund the Police movement dressed up in new, softer language. They say it’s about “democratic control,” but voters have heard this song before. It starts with endless promises of “accountability” and “community input,” and ends with police budgets slashed, officers demoralized, and thugs running wild. Everyone knows the truth—these left-wing crusaders would rather see power handed to their progressive friends than keep the city safe.

Los Angeles is already a city on the brink, drowning in crime, homelessness, and dirty politics. Now the same liberals who shrug at store lootings and carjackings want to play police chief. Do they have police training? Real-world crime-fighting experience? Of course not. But that won’t stop them from treating our city like their own personal social experiment. When law and order disappear, good luck finding the councilman who promises you “equity” but can’t answer the 911 call.

These busybodies never learn. The more they meddle, the more the city breaks. They blame the police for society’s ills but ignore the real problem: their own anti-cop, anti-American policies that have turned great American cities into hollow shells ruled by fear. If the city controller and council want to run the LAPD, maybe they should try riding along one night or face a mob themselves.

The truth is simple. Community safety should be led by experts, not activists who have never worn a badge. When politicians put their own power ahead of public safety, everyone loses—except the criminals. How many more times do LA families have to suffer before the city wakes up? Or will the radicals finally admit they have no idea how to protect the city they claim to love?
