When will the radical Left learn that America’s safety matters more than some activist’s “hurt feelings”? Once again, the immigration system did its job—despite the endless wailing from open-borders progressives—by moving a dangerous agitator one step closer to getting kicked out of our country. Mahmoud Khalil, the Palestinian activist and former Columbia grad student, has been gaming the system for too long. Now, a top immigration board is finally moving to hold him accountable. Apparently, following our immigration laws is just too much for the woke crowd to handle.
Let’s not kid ourselves. The Left wants Americans to believe this is just about free speech. They paint Khalil as a victim, someone targeted only because he speaks out “against genocide.” That’s the Left’s favorite tactic: play the victim, change the subject, and ignore the facts. But here’s reality—national security comes first. The Department of Justice has every right to stop noncitizens from undermining American policy or spreading toxic, divisive rhetoric in our universities. Khalil failed to fully disclose vital information on his green card paperwork. That’s a violation, plain and simple.
These activists run to liberal lawyers, who then run to their friends in activist organizations. The whole gang cries “retaliation” the moment actual accountability arrives. But let’s be honest: if the Trump administration were as evil as they claim, Khalil would have been deported years ago. In truth, the only weaponized system is the Left’s use of the courts to grind our immigration policies to a halt. For months, Khalil bounced between courtrooms, armed with high-priced attorneys, exploiting every loophole available. Meanwhile, American citizens have to watch as our safety and our laws are thrown under the bus.
Liberals seem outraged that the government actually objects to harboring foreign nationals who might threaten U.S. foreign policy or campus safety. Apparently, the Left would rather put the “rights” of noncitizens above those of American students—especially Jewish students who feel targeted by the kinds of campus activism Khalil represents. The Biden Administration, unwilling to stand up for our country, drags its heels and signals weakness. Judges are forced to rule on what is obvious to everyone: when someone lies on official documents and tries to destabilize America, they lose the privilege of living here.
Let’s be blunt: America simply cannot afford to become a dumping ground for foreign radicals hiding behind “free speech” while pushing anti-American agendas. Mahmoud Khalil had his day in court—over and over again. Instead of waving Palestinian flags and screaming about “genocide,” maybe the Left should finally listen to what Americans want: borders that mean something, laws that are enforced, and a country that doesn’t roll out the red carpet for everyone who hates it. If that makes the woke crowd clutch their pearls, maybe they should find a country where lawlessness is the law of the land.
