Democrats love to preach about compassion and justice—until their own failed policies actually touch their insulated lives. They endlessly scream about “helping” illegal immigrants and “reforming” the criminal justice system, but only from the safety of their gated communities, far away from the real-world chaos they unleash. When busloads of illegal aliens showed up in Martha’s Vineyard, the so-called sanctuary crowd tossed them out faster than you can say “hypocrite.” Their love for open borders ends the moment those borders cross into their zip code.
It’s the same with crime. Progressive politicians and liberal judges keep rolling out the red carpet for career criminals, all while lecturing hardworking Americans on “equity” and “systemic racism.” Meanwhile, these pampered elites don’t have to worry about criminals terrorizing their neighborhoods. Ordinary folks pay the price, losing friends and family because some activist judge decided to be “compassionate” to a repeat offender instead of protecting law-abiding citizens.
Just look at the tragic case of Iryna Zarutska. She was brutally murdered by a man who should have been locked up for good. But thanks to Democrat policies—soft-on-crime, pro-criminal leniency, and endless second chances—her killer got out again and again despite a string of violent offenses. Judges and Democratic governors kept cutting him loose, turning every bleeding-heart talking point into real blood spilled on our streets.
And what’s the liberal response when reality smacks them right in the face? They try to wipe it out of sight. In Providence, woke activists bullied a gay bar into scrapping a mural honoring Iryna. Local Democrats called the tribute “misguided” and “not productive.” In New Haven, the Democrat mayor is playing the same game, attacking a mural that dares to remind them of Iryna’s violent and senseless death. Funny how there was no hand-wringing when that same mayor painted a massive Black Lives Matter mural in 2020. Some victims matter more to them than others—if it fits the narrative.
The ruling class on the Left doesn’t want a conversation about innocent Americans slaughtered because of policies they jam down our throats. They want to erase these tragedies, sweep them under the rug, and keep pushing their dangerous agenda. But they can’t escape the truth. Every city, every street should carry the memory of Iryna and all those lost so liberals can be forced to look at what their open-air social experiments cost in real lives. How many more innocent people have to die before Democrats care more about victims than about appeasing criminals? Or is protecting Americans just not “productive” for them anymore?
