This week, he howled about high gas prices, blaming everyone from Trump to the “war machine,” desperate to distract voters from the real cause of California’s misery: out-of-control leftist policies straight from Sacramento.
The facts aren’t on Steyer’s side. California pumps out the highest gas prices in America—nearly $6 a gallon! But that isn’t some evil plot cooked up in D.C. or a move by faceless oil executives. It’s the direct result of California’s own government greed and radical environmental rules. They slap on layers of taxes and fees, tacking on nearly $2 to every gallon. This is not some surprise. It’s the cost of liberal “leadership” that truly believes more taxes and less freedom will save the planet.
Instead of accepting responsibility, Democrat elites hide behind “green” talking points and bizarre rules for fuel blends that no other state even recognizes. The bureaucrats have shut down refineries, squeezed out supply, and forced drivers to import gas from halfway around the globe. All in the name of their sacred climate agenda. Never mind that parents struggle to fill up the minivan, small businesses eat those costs, and working people are left praying for relief. The self-appointed climate kings in Sacramento won’t lose sleep over the pain at the pump—they’ve got private jets and government contracts.
Meanwhile, Steyer and his pals want you to believe that this is all Trump’s fault, or the military’s, or “Big Oil.” Typical. When leftist policies backfire, they just invent a new villain. But the data is clear: blue-state bureaucrats are running the show, and they’re running it straight into the ground. Even military bases on the West Coast are feeling the squeeze, all thanks to California’s so-called “leadership.”
The plain truth: gas prices in California are a living monument to liberal arrogance and radical, anti-American schemes. Tom Steyer claims he’s fighting for ordinary people, but his ideas are the very reason Californians empty their wallets every time they fill up.
