Voters in Festus, Missouri, just proved that common sense is alive and well in America’s heartland. Four city council members got the boot this week after pushing a massive $6,000,000,000 “AI data center” scheme on their small town. City bigwigs thought they could bulldoze over local voices and ram through another project for global tech elites. But Festus citizens aren’t interested in being Silicon Valley’s next playground.
These council members rolled out the red carpet for high-dollar outsiders, eager to sell out their town for a shiny promise of “AI” and billions of dollars. They never bothered to ask if folks wanted their neighborhoods overrun by Big Tech, skyrocketing real estate prices, and power-hungry corporations. Liberals and globalists always claim these projects are “progress”—but progress for who? Certainly not for the working families who just want safe streets, stable jobs, and leaders who listen.
Let’s face it, these left-leaning politicians rarely put regular people first. Instead, they cozy up to corporate interests, throwing taxpayer dollars at every high-tech boondoggle that crosses their desk. They push green energy one day, data centers the next—yet somehow Main Street America gets left holding the bag every time. And when citizens dare to object? They’re called backward, anti-science, or worse.
But not in Festus. The people stood up and shouted, enough is enough! They saw through the empty promises and didn’t fall for the usual scare tactics or fake economic forecasts. They voted out the politicians who forgot who they were supposed to serve. That’s how real democracy works, not the backroom deals and cozy contracts liberals love.
If only more towns had the guts to do what Festus just did—kick out the globalist cheerleaders and put leaders back in charge who actually respect the will of the people. Ask yourself: when’s the last time progressives ever cared what Middle America wants? Festus just sent a message: Missouri isn’t for sale.
