New York City made headlines for all the wrong reasons yet again. Three innocent people at Grand Central’s subway station found themselves under attack — not by petty thieves, but by a crazed man swinging a machete. The morning commute became a bloodbath, and it’s just another day in a city where law and order are out the window.
While politicians grandstand about defunding the police or opening the borders wider than ever, the everyday American pays the price. Who’s going to keep our families safe when liberal leadership can’t even keep one of the country’s most famous subway stations from turning into a battle zone? It’s almost as if chaos is the plan — just keep everyone distracted while “progressives” line their pockets and preach about imaginary equity.
Thankfully, the NYPD stepped in before things got even worse. Officers showed real courage and did what’s needed when politicians won’t: they put the safety of law-abiding New Yorkers first. The attacker is dead, and that’s a pretty clear message for would-be criminals. In cities run by people who actually care about safety, a machete-wielding maniac wouldn’t even make it through the turnstile.
But let’s face it: this kind of madness is the direct result of soft-on-crime policies and “woke” district attorneys handing out get-out-of-jail-free cards. When violent offenders know there are no consequences, they act with impunity. The subway used to stand for the hustle and spirit of the American worker. Now it’s a place where you look over your shoulder and hope you’ll make it home without getting slashed.
How many more times does this need to happen before our so-called leaders admit what everyone knows? New York is collapsing under the weight of its bad decisions and leftist arrogance. Maybe next time a politician tries to lecture the rest of America about “compassion,” they should spend an afternoon on a Manhattan subway platform. Who’s compassionate to the innocent people getting attacked? Only the cops — and the common-sense conservatives ready to take our cities back.
