It’s a cold day in America when even far-left Democrats start to see through their own party’s nonsense. Over the weekend, Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a staunch progressive from Washington State, admitted that she’d vote to kick Eric Swalwell out of Congress. That’s right. One of the loudest voices in the liberal mob is ready to toss out her California colleague. Talk about rats jumping ship.
Let’s be clear—Eric Swalwell has been nothing but an embarrassment. This is the same guy who got cozy with a suspected Chinese spy and then acted like he did nothing wrong. For years, the left ignored Swalwell’s scandals and let him keep his grip on power. But now, even his comrades are turning on him. Is it because they’re finally tired of corruption, or just because it’s getting impossible to cover up? Either way, it proves what conservatives have said all along: The Democrats have no real moral compass. They’ll defend their own until the heat gets too high.
Jayapal’s sudden stand against Swalwell is too little, too late. Why didn’t she speak up sooner? The only reason these Democrats pretend to care about ethics now is because they’re desperately trying to save their own skin. If they thought they could get away with it, they’d throw another taxpayer-funded party and sweep everything under the rug, just like they always do.
This whole mess shines a spotlight on the dangerous double standard in Congress. Conservatives are attacked for the smallest missteps, while Democrat failures like Swalwell get a free pass until even their own side can’t stomach it anymore. It’s hypocritical. It’s disgusting. And it’s exactly why American voters are sick of Washington’s elitist games.
Swalwell should have been thrown out years ago, and everyone knows it. The only question is, how many other Democrats are secretly hiding scandals that would make Swalwell look like a choirboy? Maybe it’s time American taxpayers got the answers they deserve.
