There are days when covering the news means taking on tough stories—threats from Iran, chaos at Hormuz, politicians embarrassing themselves on the world stage. But now we get this: in the middle of global turmoil, some genius thought it was the right time to unveil a six-foot statue of a rat. Not a metaphorical rat, not some lowlife criminal—an actual rodent named Magawa, given hero status like it cured cancer.
This is what the so-called civilized world is spending brainpower and taxpayer dollars on. While American families worry about putting food on the table, a crowd somewhere is clapping for a giant statue of a rat. Liberals will call it “inspirational” and “progressive,” but, frankly, it just shows how out of touch the elites are. They push meaningless “feel good” stories while ignoring the things that actually matter—like economic security and national safety.
Of course, we all know there’s always a camera-ready reason behind this nonsense. Making a parade out of Magawa is supposed to bring a smile or distract from the disasters our leaders caused. They want us thinking about a heroic rat while Iran tests missiles and the border bleeds. It doesn’t get more tone-deaf than that.
We live in a world where politicians like Eric Swalwell get caught in embarrassing scandals, Iran bullies its neighbors, and the Middle East teeters on edge. Yet the media spends more energy gushing over a rodent than holding our so-called leaders accountable. This is liberal priorities in action—a celebration of symbolism over substance. Who cares about American jobs or soldiers when you can have a six-foot rat statue?
If this doesn’t make you angry—or at least roll your eyes—you’re not paying attention. Maybe next week, the globalists will propose a monument to a celebrity goldfish. Meanwhile, America’s real problems keep piling up, ignored by the press that would rather cover rodents than reality. Is this what passes for leadership in the twenty-first century? Heaven help us all.
