It looks like the swamp is eating its own. Eric Swalwell, one of California’s most outspoken Democrats, has announced plans to resign after a flood of sexual assault accusations. Yes, the same Eric Swalwell who built his career on wagging his finger at conservatives, now drowning in scandals of his own making. The hypocrisy is hard to stomach.
For years, Swalwell acted like he was the voice of morality. He never wasted a chance to accuse Republicans of every crime under the sun. Now, when the spotlight turns on him, the story changes. Where’s his army of defenders now? Where’s the wall-to-wall coverage that would swarm any Republican caught in this mess? Instead, we watch as the left acts shocked—shocked!—that one of their rising stars could fall so hard. It seems being “woke” doesn’t make you immune from basic decency.
What’s even more disgusting is how the Democrat machine circles its wagons. They scream about “believing all women” until it’s one of their own. Then it’s just a scheduling conflict or a “personal matter.” The message to the American people? Rules are for the little people. Elites—especially Democrat elites—play by their own set.
Remember, this is the same guy with ties to foreign operatives, the same one who paraded around as if he was above reproach. Yet here he is, brought down by the very sort of scandals he claimed were beneath him. If this is the kind of character leading the left, is it any wonder our cities are crumbling and our values trashed?
This is a wakeup call for anyone still blinded by the so-called “Party of Progress.” Liberal power-brokers aren’t just incompetent; they’re outright shameless. Swalwell’s disgrace is proof that the left’s virtue is nothing more than a mask they wear until it slips off. How many more Democrats have skeletons waiting to fall out of the closet?
