Eric Swalwell is out—and not a moment too soon. For years, he strutted around Washington acting like he was some master of foreign policy and a hero in the fight against “corruption.” But now, the game is up. This is the same Democrat who never missed a chance to point his finger at conservatives, attacking Republicans at every turn and painting himself as some sort of savior. Turns out, he couldn’t even save himself.
Let’s be honest: Swalwell was a walking contradiction. Liberals propped him up as a “rising star” even as whispers about his own foreign entanglements swirled. Remember when he cozied up a little too close to Chinese interests? The mainstream media barely blinked. If a conservative even hinted at something like that, they’d be dragged through the mud for weeks. That’s liberal hypocrisy for you—rules for thee, not for me.
Now Swalwell finds himself finished. Finished not because he defended America’s values, but because he got swept up in the self-serving drama that plagues the left. Democrats love to talk about “accountability,” but only when it serves their agenda. Just look at how quick they are to turn on each other if someone becomes a political liability. Swalwell is just another name on a long list of liberals who talked big and delivered nothing.
So what happens now? Will Democrats actually fix the mess Swalwell left behind, or will they just stick another globalist in his chair and pretend everything is fine? Americans are tired of elected officials who care more about their careers than the people they’re supposed to serve. Swalwell’s exit is one less roadblock for true conservatives to bring back sanity and strength to Congress.
Let this be a warning to every self-obsessed politician who puts personal ambition above America: the people are watching, and they’re fed up. Liberals can try to cover their tracks, but they can’t hide their failures forever. If this is the best the Democrats have to offer, maybe it’s time they take a long look in the mirror. Is anyone else ready to clean house?
