NJ Transit World Cup fare hike leaves hardworking fans in the dust as elites cash in

New Jersey has pulled off another classic government move—sticking it to regular Americans just trying to enjoy the World Cup. NJ Transit, in all its wisdom, has decided to yank up transit fares for fans during this once-in-a-lifetime sporting event. So much for hospitality. Instead of rolling out the red carpet, they’re charging fans extra just to get to the game—a shameless cash grab that shows how little our so-called leaders respect everyday people.

It’s just another example of liberal mismanagement. Democrats love to claim they’re for the “little guy,” yet, the first chance they get, they squeeze hardworking families with extra fees. All while they cozy up to global elites and bureaucrats, eager to impress the international crowd. They never miss a chance to put global interests ahead of their own citizens. The fans in New Jersey, who already pay some of the highest taxes in America, are being treated like piggy banks to be smashed open whenever the state needs a few more bucks.

Let’s not forget who this helps: it’s not American fans. It’s the wealthy, the globalists, and the FIFA fat cats. They can afford any fare, any time. But the ordinary Americans, the real heart and soul of our country, are expected to carry the burden. Those running the show in Jersey want you to believe this is for the greater good—but it looks more like they’re selling out their neighbors for international applause.

Meanwhile, this price hike basically tells American soccer fans their loyalty doesn’t matter. Politicians will pound their chests about how “inclusive” they are, but when it counts, they make life harder for the people who love the game. Instead of celebrating sports and the fans who keep them alive, New Jersey has decided to punish them, all in the name of “public good.” We know what that means—more out-of-control government spending and new ways to nickel and dime honest folks.

After this betrayal, it’s clear where New Jersey’s priorities lie. Why support your own when you can impress a bunch of elites flying in for a tournament? Real fans, real Americans, are left out in the cold. If this is the future of public transit under liberal leadership, maybe it’s time to kick Jersey’s reckless policies right into the penalty box. How much more are we supposed to take before we say, enough is enough?
