Democrats never seem to play by the rules they set for everyone else. The latest example? Senator Ruben Gallego and Representative Eric Swalwell—a pair of liberal politicians who apparently think responsibility is just another talking point. While Americans tighten their belts and struggle to put family first, Gallego and Swalwell leave their spouses behind to jet off on foreign trips, cozying up with global elites and grifters while their families stay home.
Let’s cut through the excuses. If an average American father or husband left his family behind while he toured foreign countries, setting his own agenda instead of putting his loved ones first, he’d be shredded on social media and in the press. So why do these Democrats get a free pass? It’s always one standard for them and another for everyone else. They champion “family values” when it’s politically convenient, and toss those same values aside the minute they get a taste of the world stage.
Logically, one must ask: why on earth do these so-called public servants need to travel the globe so often without their spouses? Who are they really working for? It sure doesn’t seem like it’s the American people. Maybe it’s the globalist pals and lobbyists they bump elbows with on these taxpayer-funded junkets. Voters should not be fooled by the sheepish smiles and virtue-signaling speeches—behavior like this shouts entitlement and double standards.
Americans deserve elected leaders who put country and family above foreign whimsy. Instead, we get a parade of leftist politicians who act like Hollywood celebrities, playing the part on camera and doing whatever they want in private. Where’s the accountability? Where’s the outrage from the so-called mainstream media that loves dishing dirt—unless it’s one of their own?
If Democrats like Gallego and Swalwell think they’re above common decency, what else do they think they’re above? Are spouses just the first things they leave behind, or is it their duty to the American people too?
