New Yorkers just can’t catch a break. The city votes in another left-wing politician, Zohran Mamdani, who seems to think taxing the successful is an act of heroism. Mamdani actually celebrated a new plan to slap the so-called “rich” with even higher taxes in New York City, all while pretending it’s some kind of festival for the common man. Only a dyed-in-the-wool progressive could cheer stealing more from those who work the hardest.
Let’s get real. New York already bleeds its taxpayers dry. The ones footing the enormous city budget aren’t the career activists or bureaucrats droning on about “collectivism.” It’s the entrepreneurs, the professionals, the business owners—the exact people liberals like Mamdani are hell-bent on punishing. He’s hungry for their wallets, but what happens when they leave for freer, safer ground?
That’s the dirty secret these socialist types won’t admit. The more you target the producers, the less they stick around. The left claims it wants fairness, but what it actually delivers is a mass exodus. Jobs dry up, public services suffer, and working families are left holding the bag. Liberals can talk all day about “community” and “sharing”—until there’s nothing left to share.
Taxing the so-called “wealthy” isn’t bold leadership. It’s lazy, predictable, and shortsighted. Instead of fixing the city’s spending nightmare, they invent new ways to loot those who make New York thrive. This isn’t about social justice. It’s about power and punishing success—just another step in the long march to mediocrity.
So here’s a question for Mr. Mamdani and his progressive pals: when you finally run all the earners out of town, who’s going to be left to feed your bloated city budget? The government can’t hand out what it doesn’t have. Or maybe that’s the endgame—tear it all down, globalist style, and hope the rest of us don’t notice until it’s too late.
