The American people are sick and tired of Congress sitting on its hands. Utah Senator Mike Lee has finally said what so many conservatives have been thinking for years—it’s time to nuke the filibuster and get Washington moving again. For too long, the filibuster has been used as a shield for lazy, do-nothing politicians who would rather play games than fix the broken system. Enough with the excuses. If Congress can’t handle the heat, it’s time they step out of the kitchen.
Democrats love using the filibuster when it suits them. But when they want to ram through their radical agenda, suddenly rules don’t matter. Let’s not forget how quick they were to change the rules when it came to confirming judges. Now, they pretend to be defenders of tradition just to block real conservative reforms. It’s pure hypocrisy, and the American people can see right through it.
While the border remains wide open and our economy falters, Congress still clings to outdated procedures. Politicians whine about gridlock, but refuse to do anything meaningful about it. Meanwhile, globalists keep chipping away at America’s sovereignty, using this gridlock as their favorite cover story. Who benefits when nothing gets done? Certainly not hardworking Americans.
Senator Lee is right. The time for half-measures and empty promises is over. The filibuster might sound historic, but these days it’s just an excuse for incompetence and cowardice. Liberals would love nothing more than to keep dragging their feet—making deals in back rooms while American families suffer. Conservatives need to take the fight to them and demand action, not obstruction.
Washington wasn’t built on endless delays. America moves forward when our leaders put country ahead of petty politics. So why are we letting do-nothings in Congress stand in the way? Maybe it’s time to ask: are these politicians protecting American values, or just their own power?
