It’s almost laughable to hear Hollywood liberals talk about fairness. Take Tina Fey, for instance, now insisting that “Saturday Night Live” must be “fair” with its political jokes. According to her, their comedy supposedly comes from some sacred wellspring of truth. Give us a break.
Anyone who’s been awake for the last decade knows what passes for “fair” on SNL. The left gets a gentle ribbing, maybe a light tap on the wrist, while conservatives—especially anyone remotely tied to America First politics—get thrown under the bus every Saturday night. This is the same old song and dance from elitist comedians who think voters are too dumb to notice their double standards.
For years, the so-called writers and actors of SNL have spewed liberal talking points dressed up as punchlines. But when was the last time they took a hard shot at Democrats’ endless failures? Did anyone see them go after Biden’s obvious blunders like they went after Trump? Of course not. It’s always “based in truth” as long as they’re the ones telling the story and controlling the punchline.
Let’s get real. The Hollywood club Tina Fey belongs to acts like it’s the moral compass for the nation. They pretend to care about responsibility, but only as long as it keeps them trending on social media and collecting a paycheck from their globalist buddies. Meanwhile, they cheerfully join the brigade that mocks traditional values, faith, and hard-working middle Americans.
Maybe it’s time for SNL—and people like Tina Fey—to actually practice what they preach. If they think being “fair” means only attacking one side, maybe they should look in the mirror. Or is it just too hard for liberals to confront the truth about their own hypocrisy?
