Another horrifying tragedy struck Shreveport, Louisiana, this weekend. Eight innocent children lost their lives at the hands of a gunman—a man who once served this country in uniform. Now, as the media scrambles to find the next scapegoat, real questions remain ignored. How does someone who gave years to his country come home so broken, so lost, that he commits unthinkable acts?
Liberals will waste no time blaming the Second Amendment. They’ll cry out for more gun control, as if stripping rights from law-abiding citizens is the answer. It never is. How often do we see criminals follow gun laws? This killer didn’t jump through legal hoops—he walked right past them. Disarming Americans only leaves the good guys defenseless. The tragic events in Shreveport show, once again, how gun laws do little to stop evil and everything to handicap those who want to protect themselves.
Meanwhile, the so-called “progressives” love to shout about mental health when they want funding for pet projects, but where are they when our veterans suffer? This entire country can pour billions into foreign wars and globalist boondoggles, but when a soldier comes home, he’s left to rot. The system cares more about pronouns than PTSD. Politicians pat each other on the back for inclusive policies, but can’t be bothered to ensure the brave men and women who keep America safe are getting the help they desperately need. That is real hypocrisy, and it’s killing our communities.
The left will use these deaths for their own gain. They never let a crisis go to waste. Watch as they demand more surveillance, more restrictions, more government in your life. But do they ask why our veterans are failing to re-enter society? Do they chase after the true root causes—family breakdown, anti-American education, the breakdown of community and faith? Of course not. That would require real self-reflection and accountability—two things liberals avoid at all costs.
The truth is, tragedies like this are symptoms of a broken culture, not broken gun laws. America doesn’t need elites in D.C. to come after your rights. America needs to stand up for its families, care for its veterans, and put faith, patriotism, and tough love back into the conversation. If we don’t, is there any hope left for our children?
