Iran just made it clear they have no respect for America or the so-called “international order.” In the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian forces opened fire on three ships and seized two of them. This happened just hours after President Trump said he was trying—once again—to give peace a real shot. But what did the Iranian regime do in response? They doubled down on violence.
It’s not a coincidence. Every time America tries to play nice under pressure from globalist elites and the left’s endless calls for “diplomacy,” ruthless regimes like Iran smell weakness. The left wants everyone to believe that talking will magically fix everything, but all it sends is the message that America is willing to sit back and take it. Iran’s aggression proves that thug governments only respect strength, not empty promises and diplomatic photo ops.
Let’s not dance around the truth. Democrats and their liberal media allies will twist themselves into knots, blaming America first and defending Iran. Instead of calling out evil when they see it, they’d rather play defense for a regime that literally threatens innocent shipping in international waters. The world’s busiest energy trade route just turned into Tehran’s playground—and the left acts like it’s not even a big deal.
This is exactly what happens when America’s enemies no longer fear real consequences. Iran seizes ships and fires on them, knowing that all they’ll get from Washington’s elite is paperwork and finger-wagging. Why does the left love to pretend that tyrants will listen to “dialogue” and “restraint”? They should ask the crews trapped on those ships how that worked out.
At some point, we have to stop pretending weakness is some kind of virtue. The world isn’t safer when American power is sidelined. It’s time to get serious and show regimes like Iran that there’s a price to pay for attacking innocent people on the high seas. Or is the left too busy writing apology letters to the ayatollahs to care?
