New York City’s political elites have lost their minds. Instead of fixing problems, they’re busy chasing out the people who make the city work. Take the latest left-wing obsession—taxing the rich—for example. Liberal politicians, like Zohran Mamdani, are on a rage-fueled crusade to punish anyone who dares to be successful. Their newest target? Ken Griffin, a self-made billionaire who’s done more for the city than any of these tax-and-spend socialists ever will.
Instead of thanking top earners like Griffin for keeping the city afloat, these progressive loudmouths treat them like villains. They claim taxing the rich will solve everything from potholes to homelessness. But anyone with half a brain knows it’s just an excuse to grab more power while driving out the people who pay most of the bills. Economic suicide, pure and simple.
You want to know what happens when you demonize wealth and treat job creators like criminals? They pack up and move to places where hard work and success are actually respected. The city’s tax base shrinks overnight while services get worse. Yet, leftists wonder why schools crumble and public safety nosedives. Here’s a hint: make your top earners the enemy, and soon there won’t be anyone left to squeeze.
Mamdani and his crew aren’t interested in helping average New Yorkers. They care about headlines, protests, and scoring points with out-of-touch globalist activists. They’d rather burn down what’s left of the American Dream than admit that personal responsibility and a free-market system built this city. The real legacy of these leftist policies will be boarded-up storefronts, empty office towers, and families fleeing for red states.
How much more can New York take? If these liberals get their way, “The City That Never Sleeps” will become “The City That Can’t Afford to Get Up in the Morning.” When will voters wake up and stop letting socialist experiments ruin one of America’s greatest cities?
