GOP chooses Senate tradition over real action while Democrats steamroll America First agenda

The Republican Party has a choice: push the America First agenda forward or stay married to an outdated Senate rule that does nothing but block real progress. Yet, here we are again—paralyzed by the filibuster, while Democrats bulldoze over us every chance they get. For years, the left has bent and twisted the rules to fit their narrative, handing out wins to their base. Meanwhile, too many Republicans seem scared of using the same tactics to defend the country, its borders, and the integrity of our elections.

Take the Save America Act. This commonsense bill would demand proof of citizenship to register to vote and require photo ID at the polls. Sounds obvious, right? Well, not if you live in DC. Democrats quake in their boots at the thought of actually verifying who’s casting ballots. So, their friends in the Senate filibuster, stall, and stonewall any serious attempt to clean up our nation’s elections. And what do Republican leaders do? They tell their own members to pipe down and stop talking about nuking the filibuster. Apparently, preserving “tradition” is more important than protecting America from left-wing lawlessness and voter fraud.

Moderate Republicans use the same tired excuse: “Someday, the filibuster might protect us from Democrats!” That ship sailed a long time ago. The left doesn’t care about Senate customs; they care about raw power. They shove their radical wishlist through any opening, while too many on our side worry about playing nice. It’s turning the Grand Old Party into the Grand Old Doormat.

By refusing to end the filibuster, Republican leadership is making sure conservative voters get nothing except speeches and excuses. No action. No border wall. No election security. Just another round of empty promises, while the American people beg for results. Our nation is on the line, and the GOP is stuck in the past—more afraid of CNN headlines than actually fixing the mess.

The time for hand-wringing is over. The Senate needs to step up and end the filibuster—once and for all. MAGA supporters and hardworking patriots didn’t elect Republicans to haggle over Senate rulebooks. They voted for strong borders, honest elections, and real leadership. Will the GOP finally listen, or stick with the failed playbook that let Democrats run wild? America is watching.
