The double standard in Washington has reached a breaking point—and once again, it’s men and women in uniform who get steamrolled by a corrupt system. A special forces soldier, Gannon Ken Van Dyke, now faces prison after betting on the fate of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro—one of the world’s most vicious socialists—using supposed “classified” information about an upcoming raid he himself helped carry out. His crime? Not murder, not treason—he wagered some money on a betting site, made a hefty profit, and now the feds want his head on a platter.
It could not be more obvious: Washington’s ruling class does what it wants—with no consequences. Members of Congress rake in millions on insider trades tied to our laws, intelligence, and even war. Yet not a single one ever sees handcuffs. But let a decorated special forces operator break into their casino of corruption, and suddenly “justice” must be swift and brutal. The hypocrisy stinks to high heaven.
It’s not that anyone should be playing loose with military secrets. But where’s this righteous outrage when senators line their pockets off the backs of hard-working Americans, sinking entire markets for personal gain? These politicians have turned Capitol Hill into their own Wall Street. The Biden DOJ stays silent while their friends get rich, but pounces at the chance to make an example out of someone who served his country and risked his life to remove a dangerous dictator.
No American should stand for this selective prosecution. Demanding the book be thrown at someone who fought for American interests, while career politicians continue their backroom deals, exposes just how broken our justice system really is. This soldier should return his profits—sure. But unless every crooked member of Congress is cuffed next, there’s no justice at all.
Why is it always the patriots and not the politicians held to impossible standards? It’s time to stop punishing heroes while the ruling class grows richer by the day. Maybe it’s not the soldiers who need the pardons—the ones in suits sure seem to need a reckoning instead.
