This man, who ran a security consulting business in Venice, supposedly had 18 employees and a six-figure payroll—at least that’s what the paperwork claimed. In reality, there were zero W2 employees, and the so-called payroll figures were pure fiction. But the federal government—so desperate to throw out cash, so careless with oversight—just mailed the check anyway. Just stamp “approved” and move on. Welcome to the era of pandemic grifting, made possible by big government and the Democratic party’s obsession with “emergency” handouts.
And while honest business owners were drowning in paperwork, waiting for scraps of help, fraudsters like this were living large on money meant for real American workers.
