There’s a reason Americans don’t trust the system anymore. A group of international cyber-criminals, led by Nigerian nationals and operating right here on our own soil, just scammed hardworking Americans out of more than $50 million. They pulled it off by hijacking business emails and spinning fantasy romance tales to innocent victims. Their tactics were cold and calculated — and while they lounged in luxury thanks to their dirty money, everyday folks got robbed blind.
What’s worse, these con artists were running their schemes from major American cities like Chicago, Milwaukee, and Atlanta, then shipping their stolen cash overseas. These fraudsters didn’t act alone — a whole network of co-conspirators laundered money through shell companies and clueless middlemen, making a mockery of our financial safeguards. Where were the Democrats, always promising “cybersecurity” and “oversight,” as families and small businesses in the heartland lost their livelihoods?
This is the American dream turned on its head. Criminals adopt fake identities, worm their way into business deals and personal lives, and snatch real estate money and life savings like candy from a baby. Victims get an email that looks almost real — a name off by one letter — and suddenly, they’ve wired away everything they own. The government is supposed to protect us from this madness. Instead, while globalist elites wring their hands about “equity” and rewriting our history books, American citizens are left twisting in the wind.
Meanwhile, the so-called “justice” we get is slow and full of loopholes. One scammer slips through the cracks in Paris, others keep running free, and the big banks turn a blind eye as long as the cash keeps flowing through their accounts. The left focuses on identity politics, but apparently, identity theft is the only identity that matters to these criminals and their enablers. When was the last time anyone on the Left cared about protecting our elderly and small businesses from this kind of interstate and international thievery?
It’s a disgrace that in the freest nation on earth, foreigners can set up shop in our backyard and rip us off without meaningful consequences. Maybe if the Department of Justice spent less time targeting parents at school board meetings and more time cracking down on global cybercrime, Americans would actually feel safer. But liberal leaders are too busy playing social engineer to stand up for the people who built this country.
How many billions will we let slip away before we get leaders who put Americans—and our money—first? This is what open borders and soft-on-crime policies deliver: a welcome mat for crooks from around the globe, and another bill for the American taxpayer. Is anyone in Washington listening—or are they too busy cashing in themselves?
