Happy Birthday, DMV. That’s right—it’s been 125 years since New York started forcing Americans to register their cars. Nothing says “freedom” like waiting in a fluorescent-lit room for hours, just so the government can slap another fee on your right to drive. The DMV has become a monument to government overreach, where your patience isn’t just tested—it’s destroyed.
Let’s not forget one of the strangest parts of this bureaucracy: prison-made license plates. Somewhere, big government decided that criminals stamping metal in jail somehow serves justice, and then we all get to pay for it through endless taxes and paperwork—a true symbol of modern America, run by elites with zero connection to reality. Liberals love to talk about rehabilitation and fairness, but they have no problem exploiting cheap inmate labor and then patting themselves on the back for “progress.”
Whenever politicians—usually those pushing for bigger, globalist government—get their hands on a good idea, they ruin it with red tape and nonsense regulations. Registering a vehicle might have made some sense in 1899, before the left made every trip to the DMV a soul-crushing slog. Now, the process is clogged with outdated rules, and the people meant to help seem more interested in sipping coffee than serving taxpayers.
After 125 years, Americans are still losing precious hours trying to satisfy ever-changing forms dreamed up by unelected bureaucrats. Meanwhile, tech billionaires and politicians drive Teslas and get special plates, all while everyday folks wait in line just to prove they own their own car. Where’s the efficiency? Where’s the respect for the working man’s time and money? Liberals lecture about equality, but let their bloated agencies waste millions and treat citizens like cattle.
It’s about time Americans questioned why we let out-of-touch government lifers run our lives. If the DMV is the birthday present politicians have been working on for 125 years, maybe it’s time to return it for a refund. How many more candles does big government need before we finally blow this bloated system out?
