Instead of facing the root of the problem—weak policies, porous security—the Biden administration’s Department of Justice took a page from the authoritarian playbook. Their solution? Threaten those standing up for the rule of law.
Less than a day after gunfire shattered the false peace of the DC elite, DOJ officials sent a menacing warning to historic preservation advocates. These are citizen groups who dared to challenge President Biden’s outrageous plan to bulldoze history and ram a lavish ballroom onto the White House grounds. The DOJ told them to back down from their lawsuit or face a government legal smackdown. So much for letting the courts decide—this is government by bullying.
This is classic leftist hypocrisy in action. They preach about “democracy” until the second real Americans object to their pet projects. Suddenly, “the people” means “the special interests who agree with us.” Protecting history and heritage? Out the window, if it gets in the way of a glitzy media party venue favored by globalist insiders and rich donors.
How many times will the left use chaos—sometimes even deadly—to push through their agenda? It’s clear that Biden’s crew is more worried about photo ops in a shiny new ballroom than about fixing D.C.’s rotten security or respecting our national landmarks. Americans see through this charade. Using a near-tragedy to demand silence from political opponents is as anti-American as it gets. Only this administration would respond to a threat with more threats—against the law-abiding, not the lawbreakers. Maybe if liberals put half as much effort into protecting the people as they do into protecting their parties, we wouldn’t need to worry about assassination attempts in the first place.
