When a national tragedy strikes, most Americans expect their leaders to rise above petty politics. But that’s not what we got from Governor J.B. Pritzker when he reacted to the shocking assassination attempt on President Donald Trump. Instead of showing a shred of decency, Pritzker decided it was time for political theater—blaming the victim and defending the indefensible.
Pritzker’s response wasn’t just cold-hearted. It was classic liberal hypocrisy on full display. Instead of uniting the country or condemning political violence, he blamed Trump for supposedly “starting it.” Does the left ever take responsibility, or is it always the other guy’s fault when things spin out of control? Apparently, to Democrats like Pritzker, expecting respect for the office of the president is too much to ask—unless their own team is in power.
What’s even more laughable is how Pritzker managed to trip over his own logic. He tried to justify his ridiculous comments with a weak excuse, but all he did was embarrass himself. Only the left could turn an act of national tragedy into a bizarre attempt at moral gymnastics. Is this the kind of leadership Illinois is stuck with? No wonder their state is falling apart.
Time and time again, liberals reveal what they actually think about conservatives—and about America itself. Governor Pritzker didn’t see a leader wounded by senseless violence; he saw a political foe to mock. That’s exactly how the Democrat elite operate. They care more about scoring cheap points than standing up for what’s right.
No American should have to tolerate this kind of contempt from their leaders. Maybe next time, Pritzker should check his facts—and his conscience—before opening his mouth. Or is it really just open season on anyone who doesn’t toe the leftist line?
