Sacramento targets billionaires today but your family nest egg could be next in new wealth tax grab

California’s politicians have a new scheme up their sleeves — a so-called “billionaire wealth tax.” They’ll tell you it’s all about soaking the ultra-rich, making them pay “their fair share.” But don’t fall for this classic liberal trick. The real danger isn’t just for billionaires. It’s for every hardworking Californian who dared to build a nest egg and own something of value.

Let’s be blunt. Once Sacramento gets its foot in the door with this wealth tax, there’s no stopping them. Today, it’s people with billions. Tomorrow, it’ll be everyday Americans with a few hundred grand in retirement savings, or the family that finally managed to buy a house. Politicians are banking on voters getting distracted by the glitz of taxing a handful of rich folks. Meanwhile, they’re quietly laying the groundwork to raid the pockets of everyone else, without even asking all Californians for permission.

Don’t kid yourself — this isn’t about “fairness.” It’s about greedy, out-of-control government. They love to spend, and when they run out of other people’s money, they’ll come straight for your wallet. California already has some of the highest taxes in America, and what do taxpayers get for it? Homelessness spiraling out of control, schools in disarray, and families fleeing the state in record numbers. That’s liberal “leadership” in action.

This wealth tax would be a dream come true for Sacramento’s political class and their globalist pals. Just look at the fine print: They want to tax not just income, but the value of everyday investments, homes, and businesses. Once that’s set in motion, no one’s safe. The so-called “super-rich” are just the canary in the coal mine. Once progressives see how easy it is to squeeze them, middle-class America is next.

Liberal incompetence has already driven so many families and businesses out of California. Now, they want to chase off what’s left of the state’s success stories — and then roll right over the rest of us. If you think they’ll stop at billionaires, you haven’t been paying attention. What will it take before voters finally say enough is enough? Maybe when Sacramento comes knocking on their own front doors, demanding a share of their savings, they’ll realize: with liberals in charge, nobody’s money is safe.
