Once again, Democrats are being caught red-handed trying to hide the mess they’ve made. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Washington, D.C.—one of the most liberal cities in America—has been caught manipulating crime statistics. That’s right. Instead of fixing crime, their so-called leaders just tried to cover it up, hoping no one would notice.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer isn’t letting them get away with it. He’s demanding that MPD release every bit of data related to their internal scam. And let’s be clear—this isn’t some small mistake. The outgoing police chief apparently pressured her commanders to fudge the numbers so that it would look like the city was safer than it actually is. What a joke. Liberals keep claiming they care about the truth, but then shamelessly rewrite reality to make themselves look good. Does anyone really believe their empty promises anymore?
This is how the left operates. Instead of protecting law-abiding Americans, they circle the wagons to protect their own power and image. People in D.C. know better. Crime is spiraling out of control, but the elites in city hall close their eyes, ignore the chaos, and keep their talking points polished for the cameras. The rest of us are left to deal with the wreckage.
It’s no wonder people don’t trust the government. The same failed leadership that ruined our cities is now desperate to hide their failures. How many victims have suffered while the city’s top brass played games with the stats? The priorities here are twisted: protect bureaucrats first, fix the city never.
If Democrats spent half as much time actually making our communities safe as they do spinning stories and covering up their messes, America wouldn’t be in this situation. Why should anyone trust big-city liberals to keep us safe when they can’t even tell the truth about crime in their own backyard? Maybe it’s time to admit—when liberals talk about “progress,” all they really mean is progress for their own careers, not for the American people.
