The latest proof that school choice works is staring America right in the face, whether the left wants to admit it or not. For years, the education establishment and their pet unions have peddled the lie that parents can’t be trusted, that government bureaucrats know what’s best for our kids. But anyone actually paying attention knows the truth—parents want real options, and students thrive when they get them.
Just look at Louisiana, where families desperate for a lifeline have finally been handed one. When at-risk students are given a chance to escape failing, union-run schools and pick the learning environment that fits them, graduation rates go up. More kids actually make it to college. Imagine that—a system where kids succeed, just because the adults in their lives are allowed to make choices for them. Who would’ve thought? Conservatives have been screaming this from the rooftops for decades, but apparently it takes results to smack liberals in the face before they even pretend to notice.
What’s the left’s answer every time? They scream about “equity” and “fairness,” like those are magic words that erase their own failures. They rail against school choice, terrified it might loosen their death grip on young minds—because for them, it’s never been about teaching math or reading. It’s always about controlling what your kids think. They’d rather keep dragging America’s children through a broken public system than give up even an inch of their power.
Some in the media will say these new statistics out of Louisiana are “surprising.” That’s only true if you’ve been ignoring reality or have a teachers’ union check in your pocket. Anyone with common sense—and a pulse—can see that school choice is a win for kids, especially those who need it most. The only people losing out are the union bosses and their politician lapdogs, and frankly, that’s long overdue.
How many more “duh” moments like this do we need before the liberal elite admit they’re wrong? Or will they keep sacrificing another generation of American kids on the altar of failed ideology? The time to give parents control is now, not after the next government experiment goes bad. Maybe it’s time to throw the education cartel out for good—and let freedom ring in our schools.
