Another day, another story of California corruption with millions vanishing into the wrong pockets. This time, Bruce Jin, a Los Angeles man, got hit with a 12-year prison sentence after running a massive COVID unemployment scam worth nearly $59 million. Let that sink in—while families across America struggled to keep the lights on during lockdowns, fraudsters like Jin were siphoning cash away from hardworking taxpayers right under the noses of state officials. You know what’s worse? It took years to bring this scheme to light, even while billions were flowing out through broken, wide-open government programs.
Let’s call this what it really is: a mask-wearing, woke bureaucracy so blind and irresponsible it practically hands out money to criminals. The liberal leadership in California spent years patting themselves on the back for “helping people” during COVID, but where were the controls? Where was the basic common sense? Identity thieves weren’t stopped; they were basically invited in with suitcases. Thousands of bank accounts, fake businesses, and money nearly impossible to trace—all while Democrat politicians preached about social justice and equity, ignoring real security in the name of “access.”
What’s even more disturbing is the international angle. After all, it wasn’t just Jin and his buddies cashing in. Fraudsters in China—yes, China—were running parts of the show, funneling millions out of American pockets and into foreign accounts. But the left wants us to believe that globalization is always great and there’s no risk. This is exactly what happens when you let the globalists and open-border types run the show. American money leaves America. Foreign criminals win. Families here lose. Simple as that.
And for all the talk about law and order, it took until 2026 for authorities to hold these criminals accountable. The bureaucracy moves at a glacial pace, but always finds time for woke priorities and virtue-signaling. Only after public outrage and enormous losses do they bother to create a special fraud enforcement division and pretend to get serious. Where was the urgency when the crime was actually happening?
Here’s the hard truth: this case is just the tip of the iceberg. Billions have been stolen nationwide, with the average American footing the bill. Yet, liberals in Sacramento—and their allies in D.C.—keep throwing money into broken systems, refusing to learn from their catastrophic mistakes. How many more Jin’s are out there cashing in on left-wing incompetence? How many more foreign crooks are laughing all the way to the bank, thanks to failed Democrat management? Until the adults are back in charge, don’t expect change.
Why do we tolerate such reckless mismanagement from those who are supposed to be protecting our money?
