Elizabeth Warren is back at it—trying to blame everyone but herself and her left-wing cronies for the mess she helped create. Now, as Spirit Airlines goes belly up, Warren is running to the microphones, pointing her finger at the war with Iran as the reason for the airline’s collapse. This is the same Elizabeth Warren who loudly cheered on the Biden Administration when it blocked the JetBlue-Spirit merger. She and her progressive pals acted like they were heroes for going after “corporate greed.” Well, guess what? Their big “victory” for consumers just destroyed a budget airline and left travelers with fewer choices and higher prices.
The hypocrisy is clear for anyone who cares to see. First, Warren claims that breaking up big companies is always good for families trying to make ends meet. But now that Spirit Airlines can’t survive on its own, she wants to blame “global conflict.” Only a liberal could create a mess and then look for someone else to hold responsible. If she had gotten out of the way and let the free market work, maybe Spirit would still be around—and Americans would still have access to affordable flights.
What’s even more galling is how quick the left is to run away from responsibility. When their so-called consumer victories blow up, they never own the damage. It’s always the fault of some faraway war, the weather, or of course, greedy corporations. They never look in the mirror and realize their endless regulation and arrogant meddling wreck jobs and ruin businesses right here at home.
Spirit’s collapse is just the latest example of how progressive policies hurt the very people they claim to protect. When bureaucrats get to decide which companies succeed or fail, regular Americans end up paying the price. Liberals talk a big game about competition, but they’d rather see a company shut down than let it merge and survive in a tough market. That’s the twisted logic of the ruling class.
If Elizabeth Warren wants someone to blame, she should look on Capitol Hill—right in her own office. Maybe the real enemy of American consumers isn’t overseas. Maybe it’s arrogant politicians and their globalist buddies who think they know better than anyone else. Funny how big government “help” always seems to make things worse. How much more of this “winning” can American families afford?
