Congress just created an Office of Seafood while Americans struggle to put food on the table

If there’s one thing Washington loves, it’s bloated bureaucracy. The House just passed yet another Farm Bill packed fat with government goodies—not for struggling farmers, but for a new “Office of Seafood” in the already oversized USDA. That’s right. Instead of slashing red tape and tackling Biden’s crippling inflation, our lawmakers are busy creating more government offices. Where does it end?

Congresswoman Nancy Mace from South Carolina came up with this brainchild. She wants this seafood office to be permanent law. Sure, South Carolina has plenty of shrimpers and fishermen. But do we really need even more federal meddling? Start small, they say, but before you know it we’ll have an army of unelected seafood czars, out of touch with Main Street Americans. Liberals will declare it helps “the little guy,” but in reality, these agencies just bury real workers under more paperwork and nonsense.

Let’s not forget the kicker: buried in this bill is a taxpayer-funded study on the shrimp trade. Is that really what Americans are worried about right now? Families are struggling to buy groceries, fuel costs are through the roof, and the border is wide open. But the House wants to spend more money analyzing foreign shrimp deals. Who benefits from these kind of handouts? The globalists who push foreign imports and undermine our homegrown businesses—that’s who.

While liberals in D.C. play around with pet projects and useless reports, hardworking Americans are fed up. We don’t need more government “offices” to fix what politicians broke in the first place. The so-called experts love their committees and “studies” because it keeps the power away from real folks who do real work, like our farmers and fishermen. It’s pathetic, and it’s a slap in the face.

Is this really what Congress thinks America needs—a shiny new seafood office? How about an Office of Common Sense instead? One thing’s clear: while D.C. grows more bloated with every bill, the only thing shrinking is the common sense of our so-called leaders.
