Jonathan Capehart had one of those nights that most left-wing pundits dread—he walked right into a buzzsaw of facts on public television, and there was nowhere to hide. He was out there pushing the same tired liberal talking points: blaming conservatives for political violence, crying about so-called “gun violence,” and trashing the Supreme Court for not bowing to every leftist wish list item. But the truth came crashing down, and it wasn’t pretty.
For years, the Left has claimed moral high ground while quietly egging on violence in their own ranks. Poll after poll makes it clear: more progressives are willing to justify violence for political ends than conservatives. Maybe Capehart didn’t want to hear that, but the truth isn’t always convenient for Democrats who love to shout about “threats to democracy.” It’s the Left that’s out here excusing violence when it serves their cause—look no further than the chaos from Antifa, the BLM riots, and now the latest incidents getting ignored or downplayed in the mainstream.
Instead of owning up to the facts, Capehart tried to distract. He shrugged off a horrifying assassination attempt as just another example of vague “gun violence,” as if there’s some shadowy gun floating around pulling the trigger all by itself. He completely sidesteps the undeniable pattern: most of these high-profile shootings come straight out of the Democratic Party’s most radical base—whether it’s the woke fringe or career criminals who belong behind bars but somehow walk free thanks to soft-on-crime liberal policies.
Capehart didn’t stop at making excuses for political violence. His next act was the usual leftist playbook: whining that the Supreme Court is rolling back rights and dragging America “back in time.” In reality, what the court did was return power to the people—no more racial gerrymandering that lets Democrats artificially pump up their urban strongholds at the expense of rural Americans, including Black voters who don’t fit the left’s pigeonholed narrative.
It’s almost impressive how the Left never lets facts get in the way of their agenda. They shout “democracy” from the rooftops, all while ignoring our actual foundation as a constitutional republic. They claim to defend civil rights, but only when the outcome suits their own appetite for control.
The script is old, the hypocrisy is staggering, and Americans are getting wise to it. If Jonathan Capehart’s bad night is any sign, the Left’s fearmongering isn’t working anymore. Maybe if liberals spent less energy inventing fake crises and more time defending real freedoms—like the Second Amendment—Americans could actually feel safe again. But don’t count on it. At this rate, is the Left even capable of admitting the truth?
