Liberals claim kids are starving but the real epidemic is obesity and government handouts

The Left never tires of inventing new ways to scare Americans into giving up more control. First, they tried to terrify us about climate disasters—remember when teachers predicted that Florida would be underwater by the year 2000? Spoiler alert: Florida is just fine, and acid rain never washed us away. When “global warming” didn’t fit the facts anymore, they switched to “climate change,” desperate to hang on to a narrative that keeps people living in fear.

Now, liberals want us to panic over so-called “food insecurity.” They push this new buzzword every time conservatives try to clean up fraud from government food programs like SNAP. Suddenly, anyone who doesn’t have a fridge stocked with every snack and soda is “food insecure.” Some left-wing talking heads even have the nerve to say kids are starving in America—while obesity is at record highs. The numbers don’t lie. The amount of “food insecure” children somehow matches up with the number of obese kids. Is it starvation, or supersizing?

Here’s the real kicker: under the new definition, if someone can’t eat exactly what they want, whenever they want, liberals claim that person is “food insecure.” Americans have bigger problems than not getting their favorite junk food. When conservatives try to steer these programs away from soda and empty calories, the Left whines that we’re denying happiness to the poor. Sorry, but candy and soft drinks aren’t rights.

Democrats drag out one pity story after another, parading people who are supposedly starving—yet none of these folks seem to be missing meals. One senator even embarrassed her own constituent with a political stunt about “going hungry,” when the reality looked very different. Let’s be honest: the Left wants to weaponize government handouts as political leverage, not actually solve hunger.

No one should go hungry in America, and thanks to our system that’s not happening. But liberals keep shifting definitions and crying wolf, hoping to score political points. Maybe it’s time for them to admit the truth: Americans are more likely to face obesity than starvation. If the Left ever got their way and forced us into socialism, true hunger would rear its ugly head—just like it did in every failed socialist experiment. Are Americans ready to trade real freedom for fake outrage?
