It looks like the woke agenda has finally hit a brick wall—right at the gates of Smith College. The Education Department, usually quick to bow down to leftist ideology, has suddenly found itself forced to open an investigation into how this so-called “all-women’s” college decides who counts as a woman. This is just the latest episode in the runaway show where reality gets tossed out, and social justice lunacy takes center stage.
Smith College, long proud of its tradition as one of America’s largest women’s colleges, now thinks sex is just a state of mind. Instead of protecting the rights of young women, the school actively admits biological men who identify as women. Liberals love to call this “progress,” but the real effect is to erase actual women’s spaces—using the very laws that were supposed to defend them.
Let’s be honest: Title IX was written to ensure women had equal opportunities, not so that activists could play word games and ignore basic biology. Yet Smith College would rather pander to the globalist push for gender ideology than stand up for the girls it’s meant to serve. Girls lose scholarships. Women lose safe spaces. And institutions that were designed for women now care more about ticking off “inclusion” boxes than protecting their own.
Meanwhile, the Education Department, home to some of the most radical bureaucrats in Washington, has gotten tangled up in its own rules. What happens when you try to please every activist group at once? You get chaos. No one knows what it means to be a single-sex institution anymore, not even the people writing the rules. It’s the kind of liberal incompetence that sends parents scrambling for alternatives and leaves young women betrayed by the very leaders who promised to defend them.
The American people see right through this. They know a woman is a woman, not a feeling or a costume. How much longer will the left keep pretending otherwise? Maybe it’s time voters demanded schools get back to basics—and protected our daughters instead of sacrificing them on the altar of “equity.”
