German Chancellor Who Bashed Trump Now Least Popular Leader in Europe

Europe’s so-called leaders love to grandstand about President Trump. They rush to the microphones with their tired lectures, telling Americans how to run their own country. But maybe they should worry about their own disasters at home. Just look at Germany’s Chancellor Merz. Here’s a guy who thought he could boost his crumbling reputation by trashing Trump every chance he got. He must have thought that bashing America’s most successful conservative would score him some easy points with the globalist crowd.

What did Merz get for all that anti-Trump bluster? Nothing but embarrassment. His approval ratings have absolutely cratered. We’re not talking about a little dip—he’s now the least popular major leader in all of Europe. That’s right. While he was busy wagging his finger at America, his own citizens were losing faith by the millions. Even the most liberal European leaders wish they could run from this sinking ship.

This is what happens when leaders care more about cozying up to woke elites than serving their own people. Merz tried to put on a tough guy act, hoping Brussels and the Davos set would clap for him. Instead, ordinary Germans are fed up with skyrocketing energy bills, open border chaos, and crime in their neighborhoods. The country is falling apart, and he’s got nothing but lectures and empty gestures to offer.

The hypocrisy is stunning. European liberals blast Trump for being a “threat to democracy,” yet their own governments ignore the will of their citizens day after day. Merz didn’t bother fixing his country. He just called for more globalist control and more top-down rules from bureaucrats. No wonder people aren’t buying it anymore. When a leader cares more about CNN headlines than real problems, the public takes notice.

Maybe next time Merz or any other leftist wants to scold Americans about their choices, they should look in the mirror—and ask themselves why nobody wants what they’re selling. For all their endless lectures, maybe the real lesson here is simple: Never trust a politician who puts global elites first and their own people last.
