Hollywood can’t stand to let Americans have a good time without throwing in some scolding about how “problematic” the country is. Every July 4th, the lectures rain down: America is flawed, America is broken, blah, blah, blah. But this year, something wild happened. One of Hollywood’s own actually celebrated America — and with zero lectures, zero whining, and zero woke propaganda.
Bob Odenkirk, the guy everyone knows as Saul Goodman from “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” did what his left-wing colleagues refuse to do. He put out a message for America’s 250th birthday that wasn’t dripping in anti-American sentiment. No talk about “systemic” this or “colonial” that. Just good, old-fashioned pride in our country. That’s what millions of Americans want — not scolding, but a big, proud celebration of the nation that still stands for freedom.
What a shocking contrast to what we usually get from Hollywood. Most of these elite actors treat Independence Day like a chance to air their grievances or apologize to the world. They act like America is something to be ashamed of, not grateful for. They bow to the woke mob, to globalists, to anyone except actual Americans who build this country and raise our flag.
But not Odenkirk. He reminded everyone what patriotic Americans look for: a simple celebration of who we are, not what some leftist professor thinks we should be. And isn’t it telling that something so normal now stands out as “rare” in a sea of progressive nonsense? Liberals lose their minds at any hint of patriotism, but regular people are desperate for it.
When Hollywood accidentally lets real pride slip through, you can be sure it’s triggering every woke keyboard warrior from San Francisco to Brooklyn. Meanwhile, Americans are just happy to see a famous face say what we’ve all been thinking: America is worth celebrating. Maybe if more “stars” ditched the lectures and joined the party, they’d remember what country gave them their big break in the first place. Or is that too much to ask from the so-called “tolerant” left?
