Jeff Bezos, the billionaire who bought up The Washington Post like it was one more toy for his collection, finally said what every honest American has known for years: the place is a disaster. According to newly surfaced accounts, Bezos didn’t just gripe privately—he actually told President Trump, during a dinner late last year, that he views the Post as his worst investment. The words were reportedly blunt, and it’s no wonder why. When you pack your paper with out-of-touch ideologues, what do you expect? Excellence?
This is the same Washington Post that preaches “democracy dies in darkness” while turning its newsroom into a leftist echo chamber. The so-called journalists there are more interested in attacking conservatives than doing actual reporting. It’s poetic justice to hear that even their billionaire boss is fed up with their behavior. When the owner himself admits the people running the show are terrible, the rot goes all the way to the core.
Bezos may not be a conservative hero, but he finally got something right—his own employees have driven his investment into the ground. The staff at the Post—overpaid, self-righteous, and drowning in woke politics—seem more worried about gender pronouns and climate fearmongering than facts or accountability. No wonder the paper is struggling. With leadership this blind, it’s natural to expect layoffs and cuts. That’s what happens when a product loses its connection to reality and its audience.
Meanwhile, these same left-wing journalists have spent years attacking anyone who disagrees with their agenda. They ridicule Middle America, bash capitalism, and cozy up to globalist interests—but cry foul when the tables turn. They love to dish it out but can’t handle a dose of truth from their own boss. Maybe Bezos could have saved himself millions if he’d spotted the glaring incompetence sooner. But when your newsroom is staffed by activists instead of reporters, disaster is a guarantee.
It’s telling when even the king of big tech has had enough of his own progressive propaganda machine. How long before the rest of corporate media figures out that shoving leftist nonsense down people’s throats is a recipe for failure? Maybe the real message here is that even liberal billionaires eventually see the cracks—if they’re willing to look.
