Chicago erupts in violence as woke leaders run for cover and families pay the deadly price

Another blood-soaked weekend in Chicago, and the so-called leaders are nowhere to be found. Five dead, twenty-two wounded. When did this become normal? This isn’t a city suffering from bad luck. It’s a city smothered by years of left-wing policy rot—and this weekend just proved it yet again.

What do we see in Chicago? Overpaid politicians playing dress up for the woke mob, while hard-working families dodge bullets in their own neighborhoods. The new mayor, Brandon Johnson, is proving that you really can do worse than Lori Lightfoot, if you just try hard enough. Under his failed leadership, crime isn’t creeping up—it’s exploding. The bodies are piling up, people are terrified to walk the streets, and still, the progressive elite clutch their pearls and blame “society” for the chaos they unleashed.

Every June, the left celebrates its pet holidays and lectures middle America about equity and justice. But here’s some real equity: everyone, no matter their skin color or zip code, is a victim under Democrat rule in Chicago. Policies that handcuff police but turn criminals loose do not foster safety—they fuel anarchy. Chicago ought to be a crown jewel of American cities. Instead, thanks to incompetent, anti-cop, pro-criminal officials, it’s turned into a war zone.

Let’s call this what it is: the results of progressive fantasy colliding with brutal reality. Leftist politicians love to talk about compassion, but they care more about virtue signaling than helping anyone. The “wokeness” that runs city hall is nothing but an excuse for failure. The globalist donors and limousine liberals who bankroll these disaster politicians don’t live in these neighborhoods. They cheer from a distance, insulated from the violence they helped create.

How many more families have to bury their loved ones so Democrats can keep patting themselves on the back? Chicago deserves better than failed leftist experiments and empty promises. Maybe it’s finally time for these anti-American leaders to step aside and let someone who actually cares about public safety take the reins.
