Bernie Sanders wants to seize half of the AI industry and hand it to DC bureaucrats

Bernie Sanders is back at it again—this time, turning his socialist gaze on the world of artificial intelligence. He’s pushing a wild idea: the government should just take half the AI industry for itself. If that sounds like a page torn from some dusty old communist playbook, that’s because it is.

It’s always the same story with Bernie and his crowd. They see something successful, something making America strong, and their answer is to seize it “for the people.” What they always forget is that real people—hard-working Americans, business owners, and inventors—lose every time the government gets bigger. America’s greatest innovations didn’t come from red tape or top-down orders. They came from freedom, risk, and the kind of ambition only possible when government steps aside.

You’d think, after all the disasters socialism has caused—Venezuela, Cuba, the Soviet Union—we’d be done flirting with this nonsense. But for the far left, it’s never enough. Power is their true goal. Now, they want to grab the future itself by controlling the AI industry. Make no mistake: this is about political power, not protecting Americans or making us safer.

Let’s be real: handing over massive chunks of an exploding industry to D.C. bureaucrats will only stifle innovation and boost incompetence. The same people who can’t even run the post office want their hands on the technology shaping the next generation. And in the process, they’ll put America behind global rivals like China, who would love to see us sabotage our own progress in the name of “equity.”

Americans should see Sanders’ scheme for what it is—a desperate push by socialists to control every piece of our lives, from what we say to the tools we build. When will liberals learn that you can’t tax, nationalize, and regulate your way into prosperity? Maybe the real question is: are the Bernie-types truly this clueless, or is the grip on power just too tempting to resist?
