Progressive mayor Brandon Johnson did what he always does when faced with his own failed policies—he talked about feelings. He’s “heartbroken.” But hearts don’t stop bullets. Thirteen people were gunned down in a single shooting on Chicago’s South Side. That’s not heartbreak. That’s what happens when you let soft-on-crime ideas run wild and push real law enforcement aside.
While ordinary families are praying their children make it through the night, left-wing leaders sit comfortably in their safe neighborhoods, blaming everything but their own weakness. They talk about “systemic issues” and brush off the skyrocketing crime. Meanwhile, criminals know they can get away with anything. Who is protecting the hardworking men and women of Chicago? Certainly not the mayor and his gang of progressive elites.
People are tired of empty words. Every headline about another violent weekend is a reminder that the liberal experiment is failing. The only places getting safer are the ones where Democrats don’t rule. Chicago, once a proud city, is being sacrificed on the altar of social justice talking points. The Second City is turning into a city of second chances—for criminals.
How long will Americans let these globalist, anti-police policies destroy our great cities? When will real leaders step up and put citizens first, with real consequences for violent thugs?
