And now, the champions are headed to the White House, invited by none other than President Donald Trump himself. Of course, this news has certain circles on the left absolutely losing their minds. It’s almost comical how these professional outrage artists can’t let a sports victory be a celebrated moment for all Americans.
Here’s a reality check: Going to the White House after winning the big game isn’t some partisan ritual—it’s a time-honored American tradition. You don’t have to agree with the President or his policies. You’re going because your team earned it, and representing your city and your sport is bigger than politics. The Knicks’ owner, James Dolan, isn’t hiding it—he’s all in, and so are the players who want to go.
Now, even Charlamagne tha God, a black radio host who isn’t exactly flying the MAGA flag, gets it. He isn’t playing games or making excuses. If a player doesn’t want to attend because of politics, he says they should own up to it. None of this “scheduling conflict” nonsense or hiding behind made-up reasons. If you’re going to make a political stand, at least have the guts to say so out loud. That’s something both sides should be able to agree on, but try telling that to the hyper-woke mob.
This whole drama just exposes the left’s endless obsession with turning every aspect of American life into a protest. The same people who couldn’t name the Knicks starting lineup last week suddenly care deeply about who visits the White House. It’s never been about basketball for them; it’s about virtue signaling, tearing down our traditions, and making sure the country is always divided. These bitter crybabies can’t stand when regular Americans—athletes, fans, whoever—make their own choices without first asking for woke approval.
The Knicks are grown men. They can decide for themselves if they want to go, and they don’t owe the “Resistance” crowd a thing. The left’s outrage industry runs on phony outrage and fake resistance, but this time, even they can’t deny that grown adults should be able to think for themselves. Maybe it’s time for the radical leftists to sit this one out, turn off their outrage machines, and let champions be champions. Or is maturity and basic respect for American tradition just too much to ask these days?
