Liberals in California have reached a new low—even for them. The same Democrats who never stop whining about “affordable healthcare” just voted to jack up health insurance costs by nearly 97 percent for some Californians. That’s not an exaggeration. Facing soaring costs of living, regular families in California now get slapped with almost double their premiums, all thanks to reckless, open-borders leftists.
Here’s what really happened. Instead of standing up for hard-working citizens and restoring much-needed breaks for the middle class, California Democrats decided that their top priority is giving taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegal immigrants. They had a choice. Republicans tried to bring back premium subsidies for families already getting squeezed. Democrats said no. Their priorities are crystal clear: Open the wallets of legal residents, hand freebies to every illegal alien who crosses the border.
Middle class Californians are already gasping for air under outrageous taxes, crime, and overpriced everything. But apparently, that’s not enough “equity” for the Sacramento elite. The Democrats bulldozed through a budget so cruel that some Californians will watch their healthcare costs practically double overnight. On top of that, they threw in a giant new tax—hundreds more each year for a regular family. And all of it, every cent, heads straight to a bloated system overwhelmed by globalists and grifters who couldn’t care less about the rule of law.
Democrats love blaming everyone else for the problems they create. When pressed on the pain they’re causing, they try to deflect and blame Donald Trump, blame Republicans, blame anyone but themselves. But let’s be honest: This mess is 100 percent on the people running California into the ground. Federal audits even found California was funneling federal Medicaid dollars to pay for healthcare for illegal immigrants—a blatant abuse that’s now costing the state billions. This is what happens when a state values lawbreakers more than taxpaying citizens.
When will voters say enough is enough? California’s Democrats just proved—again—they hate the middle class and have zero respect for the people who build America. If you like higher bills and fewer choices, keep voting blue. But don’t act surprised when the rest of the country says, “No thanks,” to Newsom-style socialism. Is there any price too high for these liberals, as long as it wins them more power? Or will they just keep cashing in on the backs of regular Americans?
