Senator Marco Rubio is finally doing what liberals never had the backbone to do—he’s hammering Cuba’s corrupt dictatorship where it hurts: their wallets. For decades, left-wing politicians pandered to globalists and shrugged off the tyranny just 90 miles from our shores. Meanwhile, the Castro family and their fat-cat cronies have been growing rich while ordinary Cubans starved, suffered, and disappeared into prison cells. Enough is enough.
Now, the State Department, under Rubio’s direction, is hitting the Cuban regime’s cash machine with a new set of tough sanctions. This isn’t some symbolic slap on the wrist. These sanctions directly target the businesses and the family members who lord over Cuba’s decaying economy. The so-called Business Administration Group, GAESA, has long been the piggy bank for the communist elite—and this time, they can’t run or hide. No more luxury for the Castros while their people stand in bread lines.
It’s about time the United States stopped pretending that America’s enemies deserve a seat at the table. For years, Venezuela poured cheap oil into Havana, all while Democrats looked away and mumbled about diplomacy and engagement. Now those days are over. With Venezuela no longer willing or able to bankroll the socialist experiment, Cuba is left vulnerable. And who’s taking advantage? Not the left, that’s for sure—it’s real conservatives with guts.
You won’t see liberals celebrating this move. They’re too busy virtue signaling about “opening dialogue” and “normalizing relations” while the Castro cabal jails political prisoners and cracks down on dissent. The same crowd that cried crocodile tears for Cuba’s suffering somehow never managed to confront the regime responsible. Hypocrisy much? Maybe if the Castros flew rainbow flags or recycled their propaganda more often, the Hollywood set would care.
Rubio’s crackdown actually holds communists accountable. Imagine that—a policy that puts American strength and Cuban freedom ahead of cocktail party approval in Brussels or Manhattan. The Biden crowd could learn a thing or two, if only they weren’t too busy appeasing dictators everywhere else. When will the left realize: standing up to tyrants is American—not globalist—policy.
Anyone ready to apologize for eight years of limp-wristed Obama appeasement? Or are they still waiting for “hope and change” to transform Havana into Miami Beach?
