Sometimes it takes a true tragedy to remind us what really matters in life. ESPN’s NFL draft analyst, Matt Miller, found himself in just such a situation after his recent car crash in Missouri. The guy had to have his left arm amputated—just like that, his world changed overnight. He’s still alive, still a father, and still fighting. That’s real resilience, the kind of grit this country used to be celebrated for.
But will the liberal sports media spend a single second actually celebrating Miller’s determination and willpower? Unlikely. The powers that be in woke sports journalism are too busy shoving identity politics down our throats, policing language, and virtue-signaling about “systemic” nonsense. When a genuinely strong American shows courage in the face of adversity, they barely notice. It’s not part of their narrative.
It’s only by luck and fast medical intervention that Miller survived this nightmare. He was airlifted to a hospital—thank God we still have emergency services worth a damn, despite the endless attacks on first responders from the left. Do you think the globalists clutching their pearls in D.C. or their pals in Hollywood ever give a thought to the men and women who rush toward disaster so the rest of us can live? Of course not. They’d rather defund, demoralize, and demonize everyone who protects us.
Let’s be honest: America needs more fighters like Miller and fewer “influencers” preaching about pronouns or climate hysteria. This is a guy who just lost his arm and still calls himself incredibly fortunate. That’s the American spirit in action—not a victim, but a survivor. While the media bigwigs at his own network are busy bowing to China and lecturing the country about “toxic masculinity,” regular folks just want to see hard work and perseverance rewarded.
The left loves to make everything about blame and victimhood. But when real disasters hit, it’s personal strength, family, and faith that bring people through. That’s a lesson the coastal elites can’t buy with all their trust funds. Maybe they should turn off their echo chambers and learn something from people like Miller—America’s backbone.
What will it take for the media to get it? Maybe courage is too old-fashioned for the woke cult, but it’s what keeps this nation going while their talking points fall apart.
