The Left loves to pretend they have a monopoly on compassion. They pound the table about “empathy” and accuse anyone who doesn’t agree with their radical agenda of being heartless monsters. But what the Left calls empathy isn’t empathy at all. It’s a weapon. They twist it to shut down debate and excuse evil, all while ignoring the real suffering caused by their own reckless policies.
Take the endless word games. Now, according to leftist gospel, “rights” don’t mean what America’s Founders understood them to mean. God-given rights like free speech and self-defense get tossed aside, while every new leftwing wish—open borders, biological men in women’s spaces, taxpayer-funded handouts—gets labeled a “human right.” It’s nothing more than a grab bag of progressive demands, wrapped up in language designed to guilt and shame anyone who dares disagree.
Time and again, this phony empathy has tragic real-world consequences. In the United Kingdom, caring more about not offending someone than stopping violent crime turned into a horror show. British authorities looked the other way while whole gangs—many made up of recent migrants—systematically abused young girls. Why? Because confronting the problem might not seem “empathetic” toward the criminals. The victims, mostly working-class white girls, were tossed aside and ignored by a government terrified of being called racist. The message from the left is clear: your pain doesn’t count if it challenges their narrative.
Here in America, it’s the same story. The Left says locking up violent criminals is mean-spirited. They treat illegal immigrants who commit violent crimes as victims, not the innocent citizens who suffer or lose their lives because the system failed to keep dangerous people out—just ask the families devastated by senseless violence. The only ones protected under this upside-down, leftwing definition of empathy are those who break the law or game the system.
Actors and celebrities with private security, cushy addresses, and insulated lives love to scold the rest of us for not being “empathetic” enough. But it’s never their sisters being stabbed at bus stops or their neighborhoods ravaged by open-air drug markets. It’s always someone else’s kid, someone else’s community. Everyday Americans bear the deadly cost of “progressive empathy.”
Empathy is a good and necessary thing—but it doesn’t mean surrendering common sense, safety, or American values. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling a dangerous lie. If leftist empathy really is a superpower, why does it always seem to make life so much worse for the people actually suffering?
