You knew we were living in the upside-down, but here’s the latest proof: the left is now fighting to defend green slime. That’s right, the Reflecting Pool in our nation’s capital gets covered with algae, turns into a gooey swamp, and the immediate response from the far-left media? Outrage that anyone would dare clean it up!

Instead of showing concern for public health or the integrity of national monuments, liberals are whining about “authoritarianism” because apparently draining a filthy pool is now some kind of threat to democracy. One progressive talking head even tried to make people believe there’s been some grand tradition of children wading and splashing around in the Reflecting Pool. Seriously? If you value your brain cells, you’d steer clear of that stagnant mess, unless your idea of summer fun involves the CDC and a trip to the ER.

Here’s the reality. The national landmark is being damaged – some by vandals, some by neglect – and it needs a proper cleanup. But instead of common-sense action, the left sees a litmus test for “freedom.” Only on their planet does toxic algae mean you’re oppressed if you can’t swim in it. Is this really the fight progressives want to pick? Why do the left’s priorities always end up defending the indefensible, from open borders to open ponds full of dangerous sludge?

It’s no surprise. Modern liberals never waste a chance to scream about fake oppression or find “authoritarianism” under every rock— or every duck pond. They’d rather grandstand on cable TV with their crowd of anti-Trump, anti-America acolytes than actually help fix something. While normal people want monuments cared for, the left is more interested in pushing bizarre narratives to distract from the real issues.

America deserves better than this circus of nonsense. Algae isn’t a civil right. Maybe if the left spent half as much time caring about the country as they do about puddles and phony outrage, we’d all be better off. But then again, if liberals stopped embarrassing themselves, what would they even talk about?
