California’s golden days are long gone. The state that once stood for freedom, innovation, and the American Dream is now a playground for bloated bureaucrats, left-wing radicals, and anti-wealth crusaders. It’s no surprise, then, that yet another titan of industry is fleeing for the exit. This time, it’s Meg Whitman, billionaire and former candidate for governor. When even the rich and powerful know it’s time to pack their bags, you know California’s rot has hit a breaking point.
Politicians in Sacramento seem obsessed with pushing out success. Instead of building opportunity, they punish those who create jobs and wealth. They raise taxes, pile on regulations, and act surprised when the most successful people take their money elsewhere. What exactly did they expect? Smart people aren’t going to stick around and pay top dollar just to be demonized for their achievements.
Let’s call this what it is: liberal failure. Weak leadership has turned California into a haven for wild spending, woke rules, and policies that strangle prosperity. Meanwhile, real problems like crime, homelessness, and out-of-control living costs keep getting swept under the rug. The only people winning in this mess are the globalist elites and far-left politicians who write the rules. Ordinary folks? They’re getting squeezed out along with the billionaires.
The hypocrisy is off the charts. California’s leaders love to brag about being “progressive,” all while pushing families and businesses to the brink. They pretend to care about the middle class, but their own policies make it impossible to get ahead. Now that big names like Meg Whitman are pulling out, maybe they’ll start to pay attention. Or maybe they’ll just find someone else to blame for their own disaster.
How many more jobs, dreams, and fortunes need to vanish before California’s ruling class wakes up? Or maybe losing what’s left of the state’s greatness is just part of the plan.
