The LA City Council has gone off the rails. This week, every single member—even the so-called moderates—lined up to crush the oil and gas industry inside city limits. They didn’t just ban future drilling; they set off a slow-motion demolition of all existing fossil-fuel infrastructure over the next twenty years. Not one elected official raised a voice for working families facing skyrocketing gas prices. Not one cared about the loss of thousands of good-paying American energy jobs.
This is what happens when California liberals run the show. Their reckless rush toward green “utopia” comes with a heavy price: bigger bills for average folks and more pain at the pump. But do the politicians care? Of course not. They laugh all the way to their solar-powered government buildings while hardworking Angelenos struggle to fill their tanks. Let’s be real—progressives love to preach about “justice,” but what about justice for the families who just want to get to work, put food on the table, and keep the lights on?
The council had a chance to put common sense first. They could’ve defended American jobs and kept energy affordable. Instead, they bowed to the globalist green agenda, ignoring the basic needs of their own community. These politicians act like fighting climate change is more important than protecting local livelihoods. Meanwhile, their policies push American workers out of good union jobs and leave LA even more dependent on oil shipped from halfway around the world. How does that make any sense for national security or for our so-called “climate goals”?
It’s no wonder more people are fleeing California every year. The state’s leaders seem determined to sabotage their own economy, all while patting themselves on the back for their “progress.” What a joke. Instead of real solutions, they hand us radical bans and empty promises. LA deserves leadership that puts America first—leadership that cares about families, not just woke talking points.
So here we are: higher gas prices, fewer jobs, and less energy independence. Is this the future Californians really want, or just the dystopian fantasy of liberal elites? The council gave its answer. Now it’s up to the rest of America to push back—or watch these dangerous ideas spread like wildfire.
