Tragedy has once again struck Venezuela. After years of socialist mismanagement that hollowed out the nation, the Venezuelan people now face a new disaster: back-to-back earthquakes that have left at least 32 dead and hundreds injured. The number will probably keep rising. This is what happens when a broken system fails to protect ordinary citizens because leaders are too busy clinging to their own power.
Basic safety measures have taken a back seat to the socialist regime’s endless power games. Infrastructure in Venezuela—once Latin America’s crown jewel—is now in shambles. When the ground shook, hospitals cracked, roads crumbled, and hundreds were left without hope. Years of corruption and empty government promises left the people exposed when disaster struck. How many lives could have been saved if the country hadn’t wasted its resources on failed political experiments and anti-American posturing?
But here’s what you won’t hear from the left: socialist policies don’t just destroy economies. They also leave communities defenseless. While acting president Delcy Rodríguez parades before the camera, hardworking Venezuelans are the ones suffering most. This catastrophe is no act of nature alone. It’s the byproduct of years of leftist neglect. Remember, this is the future progressives want—government control, crumbling infrastructure, and families left to pick up the pieces themselves.
Don’t expect the globalist elites or their media allies to dwell on these failures. They never do. They’d rather blame the weather, climate change, or even—ludicrously—capitalism for every tragedy. They won’t mention that it was big government and empty socialist promises that left Venezuela unable to respond when disaster hit. If you hand total control to the state, don’t be surprised when you get total failure.
The world used to look to Venezuela as a shining example of prosperity. Now it’s a warning. While progressive politicians in America dream of socialist utopias, Venezuela stands as a grim reminder of where that road leads. How many more tragedies will it take before people wake up and realize big government is never the answer?
